The door is running slower than it used to. A commercial door that has visibly lost speed is telling you the springs have fatigued or the opener is straining against a door it can no longer balance. Speed loss almost always shows up weeks before the failure does.

Safety sensors are misaligned, taped over, or bypassed. When photo eyes get bumped by a pallet and staff work around them to keep things moving, the door loses its ability to reverse on an obstruction. That is a person-and-equipment injury risk sitting in your doorway every single day.

JeDented sections, bowed panels, or a bent track. Forklift and delivery impact rarely stays cosmetic. A bowed section pulls the door out of square, and once the rollers start binding in the track, you are on a countdown to a door that jams open or drops.

The door drifts down or won't hold its position. Disconnect the opener and the door should hold where you leave it. If it creeps or falls, the spring balance is gone and the opener is carrying weight it was never built to lift.
